THE WHY - a peek inside this month’s program
Each month the program takes things to a completely new level as we are pushed out of our comfort zone to gain strength, muscle endurance and build the foundations of a healthier lifestyle.
Careful thought process goes into the composition of the program, as Chris blends together exercises that truly provide results. There is a thoughtfulness and intention behind each rep, set and tempo and when performed optimally, you can expect the burn to last just long enough for the next week’s split.
But what are the thoughts behind each month’s programming? The why behind how it is constructed? That’s what this is for! Each month you can anticipate explanations of the programming along with a post on nutrition to supplement your daily grind and ensure the most is taken from the work you all put in each session.
In April we see lots of 6 sets of 8, not a ton of supersets, and a FULL 5 day split. By pulling back on the volume of reps per exercises you will be able to increase overall strength and weight while still attaining proper rep count through a higher overall set count. With this you should see the weights you are pulling to utilize for each exercise increase overall and strength will be in tow. I would even suggest challenging yourself to keep a journal of weights used and see how much it increases over the course of the month!
The breakdown of the split is to really fire things up as we approach spring and summer with a 5 day split. This also allows us to focus on the nitty gritty with each muscle group creating more efficiency by seeing more exercises per group. It also allows for proper rest time prior to jumping back into Day 1 quickly.
Overall this month’s program is meant to really kick things into high gear. So grab a heavier weight, check in on the form to ensure safety as always and any questions always feel free to pull a coach aside!
